Custom Gameplay Items

Items that add mechanics the base game does not have, and items that work differently from stock.

Rod of Fast Buffing

Sold at the Well-Mart at the Well of Eru, the Rod of Fast Buffing lets casters batch their pre-combat buffs into a single action:

  • Store spells by casting buff spells at the rod — each one is remembered, in order.
  • Activate the rod (out of combat) to re-cast every stored spell on yourself, one after another, in one go.
  • The rod cannot be used in combat — it is a setup tool, not an in-fight panic button.

A big quality-of-life upgrade for buff-heavy casters who would otherwise click through a dozen spells before every fight. Based on the Rod of Fast Buffing prefab from the Neverwinter Vault.

Rod of Fast Lore

Also sold at the Well-Mart, the Rod of Fast Lore identifies a whole inventory at once instead of one item at a time:

  • Activate it on yourself (or on another player) to scan that character's inventory and attempt to identify every unidentified item in one pass.
  • Each item rolls a Lore check — your Lore skill + a d20 against a difficulty based on the item's value (gold value ÷ 100 + 1). Higher Lore identifies more, and more valuable items resist longer.
  • Your combat log lists what was identified and what failed (by item type), so you can re-try the failures after a Lore boost. When you scan another player, both of you see the results.

This is the same Lore rule the Party Loot Roll uses to identify unidentified drops.

Bigger Stacks

Ammunition, potions and scrolls stack much higher than in stock NWN, so your pack and quickbar fill up far more slowly.
